The One Who Came to touch his robe (Mark 5:21-34)

   As we are near the beginning of this new year we are taking the time to look at people who met Jesus and how their lives were changed. 

   Sometimes things happen in life that we aren’t really ready for.  Loss of a job, sickness of our child, frustrations and difficulties and because of those things we perhaps begin to doubt and begin to wonder, “Does God really care about me and about what’s happening to me?”

   We have started a new series where we are seeing the people who encountered Jesus and the difference that made in their lives. Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me, I will never cast away.”  What an amazing thought, that the Creator of the Universe came to earth as a human being so that we could know Him and have a relationship with Him.

   This Sunday we want to look at an unnamed woman who in spite of obstacles and difficulties found the courage to come to Jesus with her need.  Mark’s gospel shows us a contrast between an important synagogue ruler, Jairus and this unnamed woman. Did Jesus have time for someone like her?  Let’s see.

   Alors que nous débutons cette nouvelle année, nous prenons le temps d’observer ceux qui ont rencontré Jésus et comment leurs vies ont été changées. 

   Il arrive que nous ne soyons pas prêts à affronter certains évènements de la vie.  La perte d’un emploi, la maladie d’un enfant, les frustrations et les difficultés et ces choses peuvent nous faire douter et nous demander: “Dieu s’intéresse t-il vraiment à moi et à ce qui m’arrive ?”

   Nous avons commencé une nouvelle série dans laquelle nous observons ceux qui ont rencontré Jésus et l’impact que cela a eu sur leurs vies. Jésus a dit: “Celui qui vient à moi, je ne le rejetterai jamais.”  Quelle pensée incroyable, le créateur de l’univers est venu sur la terre en tant qu’humain afin que nous puissions Le connaître et avoir une relation avec Lui.

   Ce Dimanche nous voulons voir une femme sans nom qui, malgré les obstacles  et les difficultés, a trouvé le courage de venir à Jésus avec ses besoins. L’Évangile de Marc nous donne à voir un contraste entre Jairus, un dirigeant important de la synagogue, et cette femme anonyme. Jésus avait-il du temps à accorder à une femme comme celle-ci ?  Voyons cela.
