We are spending these winter months and looking at different people who encountered Jesus. The one we want to talk about this afternoon is a well-known story about a woman who was caught in the middle of an adulterous affair.Â
  We want to look at this story from the perspective of trying to address some of the questions that it raises for us. Here are some of the questions we are going to look at: 1) Why did they come to Jesus to ask a question about this woman and what is this trap that the religious leaders are trying to set? 2) Why did Jesus stoop down and write on the ground when he was confronted with the angry mob? 3) Why did Jesus tell this angry crowd that the person who was without sin should cast the first stone? 4) How can we be different from the angry crowd?
  We all tend to be imitators but once we look about us and see that all of us are in reality imitating someone, how can we become ones who are imitating Jesus in his love, justice, mercy and compassion?
  Cet hiver nous étudions l’histoire des différentes personnes qui ont rencontré Jésus. Ce Dimanche nous parlerons de la célèbre histoire de la femme qui fut prise en flagrant délit d’adultère.Â
  Nous voulons y réfléchir à travers les quelques questions que cette histoire nous propose. 1) Pourquoi ont-ils apporter ce problème à Jésus et quel type de piège tentaient-ils de tendre ici ? 2) Pourquoi Jésus écrit-il sur le sol alors qu’il était confronté à une foule en colère ? 3) Pourquoi Jésus a t-il dit à cette foule que celui qui était sans péché jette la première pierre ? 4) Comment pourrait-on être différent de n’importe quelle foule en colère ?
  Nous avons tous tendance à imiter mais lorsque nous nous regardons nous-mêmes et constatons que nous imitons tous quelqu’un, comment devenir un de ceux qui imitent Jésus dans son amour, sa justice, sa pitié et sa compassion ?
