   We have been studying together the book of Revelation and we are quickly coming to the end. This Sunday we come to a passage that has been hotly debated among theologians for centuries; the millennium. But this passage is not just about a thousand-year reign of Christ, it is also about salvation.
    The salvation that Jesus won on Easter weekend will be brought to its completion at the return of Christ to earth. Although we enjoy the benefits of salvation right now when we believe in Jesus, in another sense like Peter says, we are waiting for “the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed.†We are waiting for a salvation that will deal the final blow to death, sin, evil and injustice. Believers in Jesus still cry out, “How long?” waiting to be united with our Lord.
    Revelation 20 reveals to us that this salvation is coming and it is pictured as a one-thousand year reign of believers with King Jesus, as the final destruction of Satan and the antichrist in the lake of fire, and as the name of the believer being written in the book of life of the Lamb. Let’s look together at this last word on salvation.
    Alors que nous continuons d’étudier ensemble le livre de l’Apocalypse, nous approchons de la fin. Ce Dimanche nous verrons un passage qui fut sujet à de nombreux débats parmi les théologiens depuis des siècles; le millennium. Mais ce passage ne traite pas uniquement des mille ans de règne de Christ, mais aussi de salut.
    Le salut remporté par Jésus le weekend de Pâques sera accompli pleinement lors de son retour sur Terre. Bien que nous puissions apprécier les bénéfices du salut dès maintenant dès lors que nous croyons en Jésus, et Pierre le dit en ces mots, nous attendons “le retour du salut qui est prêt à être révélé.†Nous attendons un salut qui achèvera la mort, le péché, le mal et l’injustice. Les croyants en Jésus continue d’implorer, “Combien de temps?” avant d’être enfin réunis avec notre Seigneur.
    Apocalypse 20 nous révèle que ce salut arrive sous la forme d’un règne de mille ans pour les croyant avec leur roi, Jésus, comme la destruction finale de Satan ainsi que de l’antéchrist dans le lac de feu, et avec le nom de chaque croyant inscrit dans le livre de l’agneau.
