    All right, he honest. How many of you wanted to leave when you saw that the subject of the message was judgment? 🙂 Many people are afraid that God is an angry, judging God and they are wondering if that is what the message is about how can they avoid it. But we have to admit that the bible does talk about judgment.
    Even the verse that we love so much, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son…†concludes by saying, “that whoever believes in Him might not perish but have everlasting life.†Why in a verse of hope and good news would Jesus bring up something so threatening and scary like “perishing.â€
    We can’t avoid it; the bible does talk about judgment. So, what does this last word on judgment reveal to us about God? The book of Revelation teaches us that God’s judgment is based upon his love and his justice. Since God is a God of love, even his anger and his judgment are an expression of his love toward his creation and his willingness to deal with anything that threatens his good creation. Let’s see how he does that.

Combien d’entre vous préfèreraient partir en entendant que le sujet du sermon est le jugement? 🙂 Beaucoup de personnes ont peur que Dieu soit un Dieu de colère et de jugement et se demandent si ce message dira comment l’éviter. Mais nous devons admettre que la Bible mentionne un jugement.
    Même ce verset que nous aimons tant, “Car Dieu a tant aimé le monde qu’il a donné son Fils unique…†fini en disant, “afin que tous ceux qui croient en lui ne périssent point mais aient la vie en abondance.†Pourquoi Jésus mentionnerait-il une chose aussi terrifiante que “périssent” dans un verset d’espoir et de bonne nouvelle?
    Nous ne pouvons le nier; la Bible parle d’un jugement. Alors qu’est-ce que ces derniers mots sur le jugement nous révèlent à propos de Dieu? Le livre de l’Apocalypse nous enseigne que le jugement de Dieu est basé sur son amour et sa justice. Puisque Dieu est amour, même sa colère et son jugement sont une expression de son amour envers sa création et sa volonté de corriger tout ce qui nuirait à sa création. Voyons comment il fait cela.
