Next Sunday at Trinity:
We are continuing our series today called “Life in the Spirit†and we are going to turn to the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 7. If we read these words in a resume, we wouldn’t ever accept that person as a teacher or leader in the church but here they are in all their utter honesty; words from this great apostle and missionary about an inner battle and struggle with sinful desires. Romans 7 and 8 brings right out into the open the inner battle that a Christian faces who wants to live in the power of the spirit.
Last week we said that the Holy Spirit lives within every true believer. This passage tells us we have been released from the law that we may serve in the new way of the spirit. The New Covenant is the age of the spirit. The believer has the Holy Spirit within, the law written on our hearts as Jeremiah prophesied but lest we think that means there is no more battle with sin we need to focus on Romans 7 again. Let’s look at this passage and what God wants to teach us.

Nous continuons notre série appelée « la vie dans l’Esprit » et nous regarderons les mots de l’apôtre Paul dans Romains 7. Si nous résumions ces mots, nous n’accepterions jamais cette personne en tant qu’enseignant ou leader de l’église mais les voici dans leur honnêteté la plus totale; Les mots de ce grand apôtre et missionnaire à propos d’une bataille intérieure avec des désirs pécheurs. Romains 7 et 8 amènent directement dans ce combat intérieur que doit mener le Chrétien voulant vivre dans le pouvoir l’Esprit.
La semaine dernière nous avons dit que l’Esprit Saint vit en chaque croyant. Ce passage nous dit que nous avons été libérés de la loi afin que nous puissions servir l’Esprit Saint. La nouvelle alliance est l’époque de l’Esprit. Le croyant est habité par l’Esprit Saint, la loi écrite en nos cœurs comme l’a prophétisé Jérémie mais de peur que nous crions qu’il n’y a plus de bataille à livrer contre le péché, nous devons nous concentrer sur Romains 7.
