Filled by the Holy Spirit

Next Sunday at Trinity:

We are continuing our series today called “Life in the Spirit” and we are going to turn to the commandment that is found in Scripture for the life of the Christian, “Be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit ? Is it possible to have a power supply available and yet miss out on the power ? What is the fullness of the Holy Spirit and how can we experience it ?
We want to look at this subject by looking at a comparison of what it means to have the Holy Spirit in our lives by being baptized in the Spirit into the body of Christ but still not necessarily being “filled with the Spirit.”
Then we want to look at a contrast that the Apostle Paul gives us between being “filled with wine” and being “filled with the Spirit.”
Then we will look at his command to be filled and finally we will look at the consequences of a life filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit of God.
Our prayer is indeed: “Oh God, we need more of you. Come and fill us with you precious Holy Spirit we pray.”

Nous continuons notre série de messages intitulée « La vie dans l’Esprit » et nous arrivons au commandement des Écritures à propos de la vie du Chrétien, « Être rempli se l’Esprit Saint ».
Que signifie d’être rempli de l’Esprit Saint ? Est-ce possible d’avoir un pouvoir à disposition et de ne pas en profiter ? Qu’est ce qu’être rempli de l’Esprit Saint et comment en faire l’expérience ?
Nous voulons étudier ce sujet grâce à une comparaison de ce que cela signifie d’avoir l’Esprit Saint dans nos vies en étant baptisés par l’Esprit dans le corps de Christ mais de ne pas être nécessairement « rempli de l’Esprit ».
Puis nous regarderons un contraste donné par l’apôtre Paul entre être « rempli de vin » et « rempli de l’Esprit ».
Enfin nous étudierons son commandement d’être rempli pour enfin voir les conséquences d’une vie remplie et contrôlée par l’Esprit Saint de Dieu.
En effet telle est notre prière: « Ô Dieu, nous avons besoin de plus de toi. Viens et rempli nous de ton précieux Esprit Saint. »
