The book of Hebrews in the NT is a very intriguing letter. It is a book full of great comfort yet also strict warnings. It is an anonymous letter written it seems to urban Christians as there are more references to “city†than anywhere else in the Bible and it was written to urban Christians who lived in a pluralistic society.
What do I mean by that? I mean that they lived in a society where Christianity wasn’t the only belief or the only option. There were many beliefs and in fact those who held to Christian faith were in the minority and not only in the minority but they were often marginalized and ignored.
Because of that situation there was one question that arises throughout the book, “If Christ is the way then why is life so hard?â€Â We want to take a few months to study this book together searching for an answer to that very question.
Le livre des Hébreux dans le NT est une épître intrigante. C’est un livre plein de réconfort mais aussi d’avertissements. Il s’agit d’une lettre anonyme écrite pour des Chrétiens urbains (vu le nombre de références à une ville plus que nulle part ailleurs dans la Bible) et il semblerait aussi que ces Chrétiens vivaient dans une société pluraliste.
Ce que je veux dire par là ? Je veux dire qu’ils vivent dans une société dans laquelle le Christianisme n’est pas la seule croyance ou la seule option. Il y a beaucoup de croyances et ceux qui tenaient ferme en la foi Chrétienne étaient minoritaires et bien souvent marginalisés ou ignorés.
À cause de cette situation, une question ressort de ce livre: “Si Christ est le chemin, pourquoi la vie est-elle si difficile ?â€Â Nous désirons prendre quelques mois pour étudier ce livre ensemble et trouver une réponse à cette question.
