A Song for Those who Feel Insecure – Psalm 46

psalms

We have been looking at the song of the Old Testament people of God and we have discovered that these songs are strangely relevant to our situations and lives today.

This Sunday we want to look at another of these songs.  This song was most likely written during a time of intense and insecurity.  Perhaps the whole nation was being threatened.  Yet the author declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.”

Do you ever find yourself being afraid?  In spite of the fact that God is called a refuge and a fortress?   We are not in a nation that is being threatened with an army from the outside but we still live during a time of turmoil and upheaval.  We too know fears and sometimes find it difficult to trust this amazing God who is called our refuge and strength.

How can we overcome these feelings of inadequacy and fear that we all experience?  Let’s look together.

Voyons cela ensemble.
