   One of the facts of life is that everything comes to an end. Our time here in Paris is quickly coming to an end. Carol and I have been the pastoral couple here since August 2010 and we have seen many people come and go in our eight years here. One of the sad realities of an International church is the high percentage of turnover in the international community in the large cities of our world.
   Now it is our turn to leave. Most of you know by now that we are returning to our home country, and after a year of ministry in Alliance churches in the US we will be looking toward retiring from the mission.
  Next Sunday will be our last Sunday here at Trinity and the elders have some special things planned so we will be doing various things during the “message†portion of the service. I’m sure that you won’t want to miss our family time together but for this Sunday my last “official†message as pastor at Trinity I want to share some thoughts with you that the Apostle Paul shared with a church he dearly loved, the Colossian congregation.
   These thoughts were encouraging to that church even though Paul was far from them. I want you to be encouraged as we leave Paris and Trinity, this church we dearly love. Let’s look together at what he said.
   Un des faits de vie est que toute chose a une fin.  Notre temps ici à Paris s’achève bientôt. Carol et moi avons été en charge de cette église depuis Aout 2010 et nous avons vu beaucoup de gens aller et venir durant ces huit ans. Une des tristes réalités de l’église internationale et la très grande proportion de turnover parmi de telles communautés dans les grandes villes de ce monde.
   C’est maintenant notre tour de partir. La plupart d’entre vous savez déjà que nous rentrons chez nous, et qu’après une année de ministère parmi les églises de l’Alliance aux États-Unis, nous nous retirerons de la mission.
  Dimanche prochain sera notre dernier ici à  Trinity et les anciens ont prévu quelques activités spéciales qui auront lieu pendant le “messageâ€. Je suis certain que vous ne voudriez pas manquer ce temps ensemble en famille mais ce Dimanche, pour mon dernier message “officiel†en tant que pasteur de Trinity, je voudrais vous partager quelques pensées que l’apôtre Paul partagea avec une église qu’il aimait tendrement, la congrégation de Colosse.
   Ces pensées étaient un encouragement pour cette église bien que Paul était loin d’eux. Je voudrais que vous soyez encouragé également alors que nous quittons Paris et Trinity, cette église que nous aimons tant. Voyons ensemble ce qu’il dit.
