Fall Trinity Retreat

Dear Trinity family,

As we recognize how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity (Ps 133:1), and how we are to encourage and build up one another (1 Thes 5:11), we are delighted to invite you to our annual church retreat during the weekend of November 11th-13th.

The fall retreat is a wonderful opportunity for our church family to focus on the Lord and deepen our faith. It will be filled with a deeper knowledge of God, worship, reflections, fellowship, and fun!

Pastor Ryk Botes, from the United Kingdom, will be our special guest speaker and he will lead us in to study of scriptures.

We are looking forward to have this time of fellowship with each one of you and we are excited to see each one grow spiritually, and to see the fruit that this moment will yield in us as a community. therefore, we count on your presence!

Pastor Ryk is married to Lynette for 33 years and have 3 children, Francois, Marise and Daniel. He is a Master’s Seminary graduate, having completed his studies in 2012. He loves our Lord and enjoy studying, teaching, and preaching His Word. He ministers as an itinerant preacher, serving churches where the need arises. He lives in Canterbury and worship in Eythorne Baptist Church, the oldest Baptist church in England.

Our theme: How to live before a holy God.

Would it be fair to say that it is difficult to love someone that you do not know? How can you commit your life to someone that you only have fleetingly met a few times? The same can be said about God: how can you relate to a God you do not know? Jesus said in John 4:22: “You worship what you don’t know” and “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth”. If we worship what we don’t know, humans are inclined to create a god according to their own imagination. To truly worship God, we need to know the truth about Him and worship Him accordingly.

This weekend is all about knowing God better. We will look at the overarching attribute that defines all others: God is holy. We will see what it means and how we are to respond to this divine truth. Then we will look at the sovereignty of God, what it means and how we must respond to it. Lastly, we will look at the faithfulness of God, what it means and how we are to respond to it. The purpose is that, knowing Him better, you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col 1:10).
